Seriously, dude, you need to concentrate more on this comic. I love Nerf This, and Motokool looks promising, but seriously. The suspense is killing me! I’m sure others feel the same way. Every hour of everyday that I’m on my computer, I’m refreshing this site hoping for an update.
Oh yeah…FIRST!
I really want to invest tons more time into this, and I think I’ll beable to soon someday. I’m hoping that it’s really soon 🙂
I Would Have To Agree, Currently, Scout Is At A Point In The Story Where You Simply Crave More.
It Would Be Cool If You Mixed Things Up, Like Picking A Week To Switch Nerf This! With One Of The Other Two, Making It The Daily Comic For That Week.
Though, I’m Not Sure That Is A Possibility, Or If You Would Be Willing To So Something Like That, Just Throwing An Idea Out There.
Oh, I Forgot The Important Part, The Actual Comic, Sorry, Got Caught Up With The Idea Of Maybe Updating Scout More Often….
Anywho, I Really Enjoy How You Are Coloring The Flashbacks, And The Actual Colors You Used, Like The Blue Of The First One, For A More Positive Feel, Well Positive For The Most Part. And The Red Of This Comic For A More Negative Feel, Both Were Very Fitting.
Also I Love How You Transitioned Between The Two Atmosphere’s, With The Slow Decay (Glass Breaking) To The Negative Atmosphere, Which Suited This Heated Debate And Aligns With Finn’s Mood And Persona Very Well.

Diet Soda, Diet Soda….. Is The Most Ironic Thing I Have Ever Seen, Sure It Has Zero Calories, But Guess What, Aside From The Carbonation From Being Pop, The Sweeteners Used In Diet Cola Cause Your Metabolic Rates To Decrease Drastically.
So, Diet Cola, Saves You 100-200 Calories, Too Bad That It May Make Your 400 Cal. Meal, Digest Like A 800 Cal. Meal.
Have to agree with Dreadnought AND StereAsh. All your comics are fantastic, but scout is my favorite and I often find myself checking back on days that don’t even vaguely resemble “Monday” or “sometimes Friday” in hopes of random updates. Thank you for the kind words, Celsius, that truly means a lot to hear, and I hope that I can start a more frequent update schedule very soon. I hope I get that tablet some day, I’m told they are on back order possibly.
Hey man, short time reader, second time poster. Love the story, I don’t think you should try and shoot for a “weekly” syndication, instead put them out when they’re ready even if it’s at random times. I’d rather you put out a product that you’re proud of then put one out because you feel obligated to. If you can make a strip in 2 days then you should post it when it’s done, I’d love to read the next strip. On the other hand, if it takes 10 days to do it correctly than take the full 10 days. I’m in with this lot in that I check the site when I wake up and when I’m about to go to sleep. I just want this to be something that you’re proud of because frankly I’m proud of you for having the cojones to make this your full-time gig
On a side note, I really liked the idea that Dreadnought suggested about picking a themed week. I don’t know, I guess it depends on whether you like to sit down and sketch like 3 whole pages of comic for scout in a week or if you like being able to spend the full week thinking of the next strip. It seems to me like juggling 3 strips for a week could boggle the mind a little, especially since they’re so very different. Either way, keep up the good work, I’m waiting for the next Motorkool update!
I don’t think I suggested that…if Scott was to sit down and do, say, 3 strips per comic in a week, he’d have to draw up and come up with 9 strips for the week. Ryan Sohmer does that with LICD, LFG and Gutters, and he’s barely got time for them all. You can see that in the updates; LICD is the only one that’s able to be updated on a regular basis, and LFG and Gutters is updated when possible, say, weekly. It helps when Lars isn’t the one drawing Gutters and it’s a guest artist thing. Scott, on the other hand, is writing and drawing all 3 comics. You can see that it’s taking him some time, hence the “filler” comics, like the one you see today for Nerf This. Motokool is just on standby. My thought process on the matter is this: since the storyline on Nerf This is leading less towards Monty and his plight, and towards Zoey and her getting over Chase (brutally failing, I might add in a IRL setting), and Motokool is still in hiatus, concentrate on this one. Everyone wants a regular update. Don’t get me wrong, Nerf This is awesome, your first, and is your regular “money maker”, but Scout Crossing is starting to become your epic (Think Mazinger Z vs Getter Robo [as opposed to Nerf This vs Scout Crossing, respectively] of Go Nagai/Ken Ishikawa’s legacies).
That’s my personal opinion on the matter, but honestly, Scott…do what you gotta do. I just love this comic.
Hey! So I read through the archive again, and I remembered that you had that special mini-comic about Penny and Scout’s origin for sale. I didn’t have PayPal then so I couldn’t buy it. Now that I can buy it, I can’t find it. Is it not for sale anymore?

I love this comic, Scott, I need more of it. If you’re debating which comic to make a priority, I vote this one. I’ve read through the archives over and over just to get more to read.

I love your work, I love how madly your technique has improved and I want you to keep on doing it. For me this work makes a breakthrough in so many levels I’ve stopped counting. (so yeah, nowadays people are so ironic you usually can’t tell, but I’m telling you the truth here. 🙂 )
Anyway, I agree: make THIS comic your priority mate. The other one is amazing too, but this one has THE HOOK and I just want to keep on reading it. And a last piece of mind: dude, you can fill your “extras” with your favorite bands or discography or something like that… it’ll make it worth your while.

So I got into Nerf This on a random comic spree about three weeks ago. Went through the entirety and first started on Scout this morning. Sweet mercy, squire! I have the utmost respect for what you do and the dedication to experimentation and adaptation are incredible, on each one of your comics. Can’t get over it, so I babble. Purely for self-interest, though, do you reckon the Scout book be available to ship over to the UK?
