I sound critical but the truth is I feel like I should be able to sympathize with her but there must be something I’m missing. Her character has been cool so far and this is a pretty dramatic turn of events for me.
Quick, Liz! Run back! At this point, she can wipe the tears away and help Scout carry Penny to the nearest safe resting place and call for the ambulance. I’m half expecting her to do this in the next page, and she realises more quickly than most characters and real-life people that she’s in the wrong here. So…redemption eminent? Ah, I love Scout’s consistent facial expression while the poor polar bear is being put out of his misery!
Maybe it’s just waaaaay too early in the morning for my eye-brain to function, but what are we looking at, under the text, in the second to last panel?
I have a feeling that “healing” unless you evaporate, in this comic is akin to most anime (especially after that “boss fight”) where you can probably recover from almost any wound that isn’t one that causes you to, if lucky, become condensation some day.
I feel bad for scout, yet I also like where this went. Instead of the usual WOOT YEW SAVED TEH DAEY, we get a totally unexpected response from Liz, then a little comedy with the bear.
As a rule it seems to update on mondays, though recently he treated us to a friday update, and it was glorious. It was like “Wow, I get to start [i]and[/i] finish my week with scout crossing. You do spoil me Scotticus.”
I have to tell you Scott that Scout Crossing has impressed me like only a great story can. The art is well done, the story is well planned, and the characters are amazing! Scout is the epitome of the anti-hero, and I find myself liking him more with every strip. Keep up the good work and you will continue to have my support with both this strip and Nerf This(Also amazing!)
but doesn’t penny need help btw i totally fell in love with her after that mini comic it was worth so much more than a dollar (but i’m glad it was a dollar cause i am poor)
